About Conatus Studios
My name is Vladimir Cochet. Conatus Studios is a Swiss recording studio through which I offer my music production services. These include recording, editing (a term that includes mastering, pitch tuning, and other magical practices), mixing, mastering and producing. The studio is multi-genre: it certainly enjoys a great experience and reputation within the Metal and Rock scenes, but I have also had the opportunity to work successfully on projects from extremely diverse horizons (Gypsy Jazz, Reggae, Ska, Folk, Hip-hop, Electro Rock, to name a few).
The recording studio is located in Chardonne, a peaceful little wine-growing village in the canton of Vaud. It is nestled on the Mont-Pèlerin with an exceptional view over Geneva Lake. The towns of Vevey, La Tour-de-Peilz and Montreux are a few minutes below. The building is ideally located in French-speaking Switzerland by virtue of its central geographical position, at the crossroads between the cantons of Fribourg and Valais, and not far from Geneva.
In terms of its structure, the studio is composed of various rooms: a separate control room, a matt recording room, and a hybrid room with large volumes allowing for more reverberant sound recordings, which is particularly pleasant for drum recordings. The sound is picked up using a fine array of microphones carefully selected over the years, class-A preamplifiers and high-quality, ultra-transparent converters. The shaping of certain sounds can also be done using the equipment available on site, such as an impressive collection of guitar cabinets and amps, or various software (virtual instruments, effects, etc).
I have been a musician myself for many years and know, having lived through it, what a recording represents, whether it is the first or the next in a long series. I know the expectations and the difficulties that a studio session can represent. But I also know how enriching this experience can be: I take advantage of the recording sessions to go beyond my role as a technician and literally coach the musician, thus achieving a double result. On the one hand a better performance in the studio, but also a general improvement in his or her playing for the future. The band generally comes out bigger, which is noticeable in rehearsal rooms as well as at live shows.
Depending on your wishes, I offer a complete or partial solution that will meet your desires and needs. In addition to this, I offer particularly competitive prices. Do not hesitate to contact me using the form on the contact page for a quote or further information.
